The Breakthru Company is Director Gil Junger’s love letter to the thousands of actors he’s had the pleasure of working with (except for that one guy, he was a jerk). Breakthru’s mission is to inspire and empower actors to disregard their self-limiting beliefs, the curse of the artist, and forge a direct connection with their creative genius.
Gil Junger has directed five feature films including the decade defining 10 Things I Hate About You and over 200 episodes of Network TV, including the transformative coming out episode of Ellen.
His next film, Saving #7, shoots in the Spring of 2025. Followed by 10 Things I Hate About Dating, shooting 2026. Gil’s first book, Surviving the Creative Brain has a release date of Fall 2025.
WHAT MAKES THE BREAKTHRU COMPANY DIFFERENT?
THE BREAKTHRU COMPANY understands the creative brain processes and creates very differently than a neurotypical brain. From this unique vantage point, the Breakthru Company’s eCourses and Workshop will shift your audition mindset from a fear-based, analytical thinking experience to a confident, joyful expression of your best self. – Yes, it’s a BIG DEAL!
Some call Breakthru RADICAL, REVOLUTIONARY, BLASPHEMOUS, but it’s most often referred to as LIFE-CHANGING.
As well as emerging talent, director Gil Junger has worked with: Heath Ledger, Megan Fox, Laura Dern, Julia Stiles, Ellen DeGeneres, Josh Duhamel, Sandra Bullock, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Oprah Winfrey, Kathy Bates, Jenna Elfman, Jennifer Love Hewitt …he’s even directed himself, but cut his performance for the good of the project.
Gil Junger lives in Los Angeles with his two sons, Will and Ben, as well as their dog Skittles. When he’s not writing, directing, cooking, or creating something, he can be found at the track, racing cars with his sons. He believes the next time he’ll be faster than his boys – he’s said that every time.
